The organizing is an evolutionary phenomenon, distinctive because of laws of existence and maintaining all structures in all processes of their functioning.

As such, it is a civilizational phenomenon also that occurs as a component of human, individual and social activities and as a factor in the overall development of man and society.

On the other hand, as a deliberate human activity, organizing involves seeking solutions to problems that occur on the way to achieving specific goals.

No goal can be achieved without appropriate or necessary, or at least minimal organization of conditions, factors and processes needed for goal achievement.

However, the modern era requires new types of leaders and managers, and new forms of organization; demands those who are willing and able to lead the company / corporation / state, in a distinct competitive environment, with all the good and bad sides brought by the globalization of world economy.

The main priority of CEFAGE is to promote high-quality research in Economics and Management. In 2007, in its first evaluation by the Portuguese Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT), CEFAGE achieved the highest grade: Excellent.

The Department of Law, Economics and Sociology, University of Magna Graecia, Catanzaro, Italy was established in 2011. It aims to provide a significant and constant contribution to the advancement of scientific knowledge in different and heterogeneous areas.

European Professors of Industrial Engineering and Management (EPIEM) is a growing European-wide network, connecting researchers and professors at European universities within the academic IEM field. The goal of EPIEM is to initiate and to foster collaboration between IEM academics across Europe to enhance the field of IEM.

Ideally, an “EPIEMer” conducts research to become a great and inspiring teacher for “ESTIEMers” in order to help them to start a successful career in academia and/or industry. EPIEMers believe that a person who conducts research, is “able to think in an analytical way within complex correlations and environments“. Consequently, as this person thinks complex issues efficiently and effectively through to the end, he or she is competent e.g. to teach at Higher Education Institutions, to complete a PhD and/or to manage an (industrial/technology) firm successfully.
